NeuroKinetic Therapy® Equine and Canine

What is NeuroKinetic Therapy®?

Do clients’ issues keep recurring? Do you feel that you are chasing the pain? Learn how to address the cause of dysfunction, and not the symptom!
The NeuroKinetic Therapy® corrective movement system addresses the cause of pain – dysfunctional movement patterns stored in the brain. Discover why NKT® system is the missing link in your patient care protocol!

NeuroKinetic Therapy® corrective movement system is a sophisticated technique that addresses the causes of dysfunctional movement/coordination problems at their root in the motor control center (MCC) in the cerebellum. The motor control center stores these patterns and directs their completion through the spinal cord and the muscles. The motor control center learns through failure.

In the animal seminars (equine and canine), students learn the concepts of motor control theory and the NeuroKinetic Therapy® system’s protocol to restore movement patterns in the brain. Manual muscle testing (through an indicator) will be demonstrated for each segment of the body of the animal. How to recognize compensatory patterns, and whether these stem from reciprocal inhibition or a dysfunction in a kinetic chain, will comprise much of the classroom theory and practical sessions.

NeuroKinetic Therapy® courses are based on functional anatomy. Course participants must be fully familiar with anatomy and biomechanics of their chosen species (equine or canine).

NeuroKinetic Therapy Equine

NeuroKinetic Therapy Equine is for all equine practitioners who are licensed/certified and insured to work in their field – veterinarians, chiropractors, osteopaths, physiotherapists, body workers, and any other manual therapy practitioners. Prospective students without a qualification will not be allowed to practice on animals, so would not be eligible to take the course (eg. horse owners, trainers, riders, completion of weekend/online practitioner courses).

There is a suggested Prerequisite course for all students who are not veterinarians. The online course is Equine Anatomy Precourse Distance Study, and this course is not included in the cost of the NKT Equine course. The cost is US$95.00 and should be a review for practitioners, taking anywhere from 3 to 8 hours to complete. Neurokinetic Therapy Canine

NeuroKinetic Therapy Canine is for all canine practitioners who are licensed/certified and insured to work in their field – veterinarians, chiropractors, osteopaths, physiotherapists, body workers, and any other manual therapy practitioners. Prospective students without certification will not be allowed to practice on animals, so would not be eligible to take the course (eg. dog owners, trainers, completion of weekend/online practitioner courses).
